The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
